Optimization of solvent extraction conditions of Cambodian soybean oil using response surface methodology

نویسندگان

چکیده

The conventional solvent extraction (CSE) method is commonly used to extract oil from oilseeds. Even though the of soybean seeds using CSE has been studied extensively, application response surface methodology (RSM) not yet widely explored. In this paper, was employed three different types solvents – ethanol (Eth), n-hexane (Hex), and a mixture Hex:Eth in ratio 2:1 optimized RSM Cambodian seeds. For each solvent, central composite design (CCD) applied optimize conditions, such as times (15, 30, 45 min) solvent-to-solid ratios (5:1, 10:1, 15:1 mL/g). This CCD generated 11 experimental runs for type solvent. optimum yields when ethanol, Hex:Eth, were 20.53%, 18.78%, 17.39%, respectively. condition obtained at 15 min time (mL/g) all types. coefficients determination 0.9710, 0.9954, 0.9263, respectively, which mathematically indicated good model prediction. Therefore, considered accurate reliable predicting study.
